Come feel like being in the mountains, away from the crowds, in this welcoming Bed&Breakfast situated in a semi-rural area adjoined to wonderful natural scenarios: wild surfing beaches, mount trails, natural rivers and waterfalls. This all-in-wood place situated inside a condominium of houses, accommodates up to 6 people comfortably staying in full size beds, in 3 separate bedrooms being two suites with inside bathrooms. With two stories, this house offers ample spaces, including an outdoor terrace, organic garden and a barbeque hut.
Each room has quiet split-type air conditioning system. All areas have access to Wi-Fi internet; guests can freely use a computer and watch cable TV while enjoying the ranch-like spacious living and dining rooms decorated with a number of traditional Brazilian and mostly Indigenous crafts.
Edwin, its owner, is a committed host who loves offering personalized breakfast and cooking with organic legumes and herbs cultivated in his very same place: tomatoes, basil, lettuce, rosemary, cilantro, parsley and more!

EDWIN
Edwin used to be a manager in the international maritime transportation industry. He worked for a period in New York; he speaks English, Spanish and some Russian, beside his native Portuguese. Edwin is now a devoted host who chose to enjoy a quiet life welcoming friends and visitors from Brazil and all over the world. He has had guests from Gana, República dos Camarões, Guiana Inglesa. Edwin manages his own Bed&Breakfast for both tourists and professionals coming to the region not just to relax and adventure, but also to attend conferences and events in RioCentro, a major convention center located at 15 minutes away.

Vargem Grande
Vargem Grande is an appealing neighborhood in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, at 45 kms from the city’s downtown and international airport. In the district there are waterfalls, farms, stables and trails, and much of its length is taken by the State Park of Pedra Branca, an environmental preservation area. Including the area of Vargem Pequeno, it is a vast rural area situated beyond Barra da Tijuca, Recreio and Jacarepaguá, that borders with green mountains where adventure hikers reach natural rivers and pool-like ponds, and which limits embrace the Parque Ecológico Municipal da Prainha and Grumari, a totally wild coast of white sand beaches.
The neighborhood is one of the fastest growing in the city of Rio de Janeiro, having gone from 9,306 inhabitants in 2000 to 14,039 in 2010.
Nowadays residents and visitors evading the crowds in Barra and Rio’s zona sul, enjoy Vargem Grande as an incredible gastronomic hub. Nearby there is Guaratiba, also with outstanding regional Brazilian and seafood restaurants, and with the renown gardens by Brazilian landscaping master Burle Max. The traditional folklore museum Casa do Pontal is within the region.
